We run the website PhotoWorkout.com (https://www.photoworkout.com) and we write about everything photography.
We are an online photography magazine (based out of Germany) with contributors from around the world. We aim to make our website accessible for everyone irrespective of which country they are visiting from.
What Personal Data We Collect & Why
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you submit a message through our contact form located on the contact page, your information (email, message, and if inserted your first and last name) may be stored.
If you submit your name/email through our newsletter subscription form. Your data will be sent to our newsletter provider ConvertKit. You can read the privacy policies of ConvertKit here.
Please note that you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time (by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter), we nor ConvertKit will never share or sell your personal information. ConvertKit is Privacy Shield certified and follows the latest EU GDPR guidelines (when you subscribe to our newsletter you will have to give a clear consent that you want to be contacted by us).
Who We Share Your Data With
Your data is stored on our server provided by our hosting partner Kinsta. PhotoWorkout has chosen Kinsta because they are a very reliable hosting company that follow the strict privacy guidelines, like the recently introduced GDPR guidelines by the European Union. Your data is stored on a very reliable business cloud server is located in the US.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely (or until the blog post gets a major update, in this case, all comments will be deleted).
We store comments so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (content contributors), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Do Not Track Disclosures
Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that visitors can set in their web browsers. When a visitor turns on DNT, the browser sends a message to websites requesting that they don’t track the visitor. Currently, there is no standardized way to respond to such signals, and we do not respond to such signals at this time.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site or have, subscribed to our newsletter or left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
